A 16-year-old Smethwick boy has been killed in a collision with a motorbike in Edgbaston.

A 16-year-old Smethwick boy has been killed in a collision with a motorbike in Edgbaston.
The collision happened in Hagley Road at its junction with Barnsley Road, and outside Lordswood Boys' School.
The accident at 9.50pm yesterday involved a Suzuki GSXR 1000cc motorbike travelling away from Birmingham city centre.
The teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he later died.
A 39-year-old motorcyclist from Brierley Hill was uninjured in the crash but was treated for shock at the scene.
John Hawker, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found a pedestrian and a motorcycle that had been in a serious collision.
"The pedestrian had suffered multiple serious injuries. The man received emergency treatment at the scene and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance on blue lights, whilst receiving further treatment en route.
"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance crews and hospital staff, nothing could be done to save the teenager and he was confirmed dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
"The motorcyclist was uninjured."
