Twelve months ago today, fun-loving holiday worker Chelsea Hyndman died in intensive care while her Black Country boyfriend was held in a Greek prison, accused of her murder.

Today, as he continues to battle to prove his innocence, Luke Walker was mourning the anniversary of the death of the girl he called his "soulmate".

Miss Hyndman, 20, died on May 17 last year in the party resort of Malia, Crete, after an emergency operation to treat ruptured internal organs.

Walker, from Brierley Hill, was arrested the day before her death as Greek police believed he had beaten her.

After months of being held behind bars without a trial, Walker was released on bail in October and the charge reduced from murder to death by actual bodily harm. "

Walker says Miss Hyndman had fallen heavily on a girl's night out the week before, causing a bad stomach injury. He said she had been ill since but blamed hangovers and sunstroke.
