Bailed Greek death suspect Luke Walker was today refused permission to return home to the Black Country from Greece to await his trial, which could be up to 12 months away.
Walker, aged 23, from Brierley Hill, is accused of killing girlfriend Chelsea Hyndman by actual bodily harm in Crete.
He had appealed against bail conditions which say he must remain in Greece until the trial but judges today informed the family they had decided against the application.
The trial date will now be set for some time during the coming year.
Elder brother Ryan said: "We're all gutted."
