A man was recovering in hospital today after being stabbed in the chest.
The victim, named locally as Wayne Rushton, aged 46, got to a neighbour's house, in Penkridge Bank, Rugeley, shortly after 8am on New Year's Day with a blade still in his chest.
Neighbours Diane and Derek Baxter called an ambulance and he went to hospital where his condition was said to be stable. A forensic team sealed off two houses. Two men, described as local, were arrested.
In 2006, Mr Rushton and his family were attacked by raiders with crowbars at the house.
Mr Rushton, was a business partner at the U Bar, Church Street, Cannock.
