More than 40 cannabis plants with a street value of £30,000 were seized when police officers swooped on a terraced house in Dudley today.
A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of producing a class B drug. Growing equipment, including heat lamps and a watering system worth £10,000 was also recovered.
The 48 plants, about eight to 12 weeks old and up to three feet high, were being grown in an upstairs bedroom in an end of terrace house in Russells Hall Road.
Officers descended on the property at about 11am following reports that drugs were being grown there.
The upstairs of the house had been rewired to accommodate the growing system, said Sgt James Harris. Officers believe a second room was also set to be kitted out.
Sgt Harrison said: "Police from Dudley will continue to carry out drugs warrants like this across the area as we want to send out a message that producing drugs is unacceptable and causes problems in the local area."
Earlier this month warrants were executed in John Street, Brierley Hill and Cochrane Road, Holly Hall, following tip-offs .
Class A drugs were found and two suspected offenders arrested and bailed.
