A lorry driver today appeared in court charged with causing the death of a Rugeley man by dangerous driving.
David Roberts, aged 45, of Brereton Road, was killed when his white Ford Transit van collided with a blue Volvo HGV in Lodge Lane, Cannock, last December 7.
The lorry driver, 65-year-old Dennis Martin, of Kirkcaldy, appeared before magistrates in Cannock today, where he spoke only to confirm his name and address.
In addition to the dangerous driving allegation, he was also charged with falsifying driver's hours.
He did not enter a plea to either charge and was released on unconditional bail to appear before Stafford Crown Court on Monday.
