Bailed murder suspect Luke Walker was today coming to terms with life outside prison - and preparing the next stage in the battle to clear his name.

Walker, aged 22, from Brierley Hill, was kept behind bars in Crete for over five months, accused of murdering long-term girlfriend Chelsea Hyndman, 20,from Castleford, Yorkshire, before being granted bail this week.

"I'm just getting my head round being out, I need to get my feet back on the ground again," he said.

"The bail states that I have to stay in Crete, but the plan now is to talk to the solicitor and work on getting me allowed back to England.

"I'm innocent and I'll take that to the grave."

The couple had been in the resort trying to find work.

Walker said he was finding it difficult to be out and about in Crete as everything reminded him of Chelsea.

Miss Hyndman died in May after being admitted to hospital in Heraklion suffering from abdominal pain. She died in intensive care.
