Driver hurt as 4x4 overturns

A woman driver was taken to hospital after her 4x4 vehicle overturned in a collision near Rugeley today.

The accident happened at about 10am close to the Wolseley Arms, near the A513, when a 4x4 Toyota Rav4 was in colllsion with a Toyota Yaris.

A woman in her forties, who was driving the 4X4, was taken to Stafford Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris, thought to be in his twenties, had minor injuries but did not go to hospital.

Two appliances from Rugeley and Stafford fire stations were called but the occupants of both cars were outside of their vehicles on their arrival.

It was the second accident in the area in the space of an hour. A Vauxhall Corsa and a Seat Ibiza were in collision at about 9.15am on the A5 at Turf Island, near Norton Canes. One of the drivers was taken to Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield to be treated for minor injuries.
