The family of a Black Country man accused of murdering his girlfriend in Greece today revealed they face more anquish this week over hotel accommodation.

Luke Walker, aged 22, is accused of beating his girlfriend, 21-year-old Chelsea Hyndman, to death.

His mother Lindy and brother Ryan are currently living in a hotel in Crete near where he is remanded in custody, but after the weekend the hotel is fully booked for the summer.

Walker's father Patrick, back at home in Brierley Hill, said the pair had started a frantic search for somewhere to rent before Saturday.

"It was quite a shock. They are having to spend most of their time when they're not visiting Luke looking for somewhere to live, which was an unexpected extra complication," he said.

"What's more, it's proving harder than expected, with it being tourist season."

He said the one positive aspect was that having a fixed address added strength to a bail application which he revealed will be going before the Greek authorities at the end of this week.

"We were waiting for the post-mortem results to be compiled, but our solicitor feels confident that we have enough evidence."
