Train services were cancelled and there was traffic chaos as a man threatened to jump from a bridge in a Staffordshire town.
The drama unfolded yesterday afternoon when police were called following reports of a 27-year-old man threatening to jump from the bridge at Rugeley Town rain station on Sandy Lane.
Police immediately closed off the road between Horsefair and Cardigan Avenue, causing three mile tailbacks.
Trains on the Chase Line were terminated at Hednesford with special buses taking commuters to Rugeley.
The man was finally talked down to safety at around 8.15pm.
