Cannock people are being asked to choose the name of a new housing complex for the over-55s in Cannock.
The competition will be judged by Housing Plus in conjunction with Cannock Chase Council and Staffordshire County Council.
The Housing Plus development off Walkmill Lane, Cannock, which will be managed by South Staffordshire Housing Association, will provide 83 apartments, each with two bedrooms, and there will be two communal lounges, a dining area, hobby rooms and a sensory garden provided.
Most will be available for rent whilst 13 will be available to part rent, part buy.
The complex will provide affordable apartments, allowing older people to live independently with the added reassurance of having staff on site 24 hours a day.
Extra support and personal care will also be available for those that require it.
South Staffordshire Housing Association already has developments in Cornwall Road, Cherry Tree Road and Coulthwaite Way and says this new scheme represents another significant investment in the area.
Councillor Matthew Ellis, county council cabinet mem-ber for adults and well-being, said: "The new development is due to be completed in September 2010 and is another vital step forward in the provision of quality, flexible care."
Debbie Griffiths, chief executive of Housing Plus, said: "We are pleased to be moving forward with this major development which will offer fantastic facilities to older residents. We hope that local people will get involved in coming up with a name."
Entries should be submitted to Housing Plus, Acton Court, Acton Gate, Stafford ST18 9AP or by e-mail to news@housing-plus.co.uk. by December 31.
