A lorry driver who ploughed into the back of a broken-down car on the M6, killing its driver, was jailed for 16 months.

The "horrific" smash caused David Fifield's Vauxhall Vectra to burst into flames and he died instantly, Stafford crown court heard.

The smash happened near the merging of the M6 and the M6 Toll Road near Cannock in April.

Mr Fifield's car had stalled in the nearside lane but Ulsterman Robert McClelland in an articulated lorry, failed to see him.
