Box office delight at new cinema
Almost 1,000 people piled through the doors of the new Electric Palace Picture House, in Cannock, over the weekend, with queues back as far as the car park.

Cinema boss Fred Pritchard said the poor weather had helped boost attendances at the Walsall Road venue.
Three hundred people came through the doors on Friday's opening night, 400 on Saturday and 250 on Sunday.
Mr Pritchard revealed he hopes to install a 3D and a digital screen at the cinema.
On the evening, the proceeds of the box office takings and donations from members of the public for the Help for Heroes Fund came to around £1,000.
A cheque handing over ceremony is to be arranged with Major Michelle Brown.
Mr Pritchard said: "It was a almost a full house on both nights and it demonstrated just how popular we are.
"There was a 100 metre long queue out of the door up to the car park on Friday night. It was a wet night, but it did not put people off.
"The worse the weather is the more people we will tend to get through the doors.
"We are hoping to get a 3D and a digital screen in soon. It will all help the appeal of the cinema and offer a more intimate experience than the multiplex.
Mr Pritchard added: "It has been a very successful weekend and the first of many to come."
