Two motorists were injured in a road smash on the A5 today which caused traffic chaos for commuters.

The two-car accident happened at 7.30am on the eastbound carriageway of the A5 at Muckley Corner, near Lichfield.
The carriageway between Walsall Road and Lichfield Road was closed for just over an hour while the two cars, a Ford Escort and BMW, were recovered.
The driver of the Ford had face and leg injuries while the other driver was less seriously hurt. Both went to Walsall Manor Hospital.
Chris Leggett, aged 34, said: "There was queues stretching about a mile back. It took me about half an hour before I got moving down the A5 towards Cannock."
Pete Bate, spokesman for Staffordshire police, said: "Traffic was running smoothly by 9am."
