The body of an elderly woman has been recovered from a Black Country canal.
Anglers raised the alarm after spotting the body floating in the Dudley Canal where it runs along Delph Road, near to the Tenth Lock pub in Brierley Hill.
Police taped off the area and the flight of nine locks was closed while fire crews helped with an operation to recover the body from the water. Angler Stuart Pearson, of Quarry Bank, said the grim discovery yesterday had left everyone at the scene shaken.
