From war zone to wedding
They went to war and found love – now two part-time soldiers from the Black Country have been awarded medals for their services in Afghanistan.

Amid the terror of the battlefield, Sappers Edward and Syvonne Wilson fell for each other and married just weeks after returning from a three-month stint in the war zone.
They were among six Territorial Army soldiers from the West Midlands serving with the crack 131 Independent Commando Squadron to receive medals from the Lord Mayor of Birmingham at a special ceremony at their city base last night.
Newlyweds Edward, 31, and Syvonne, 23, from Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, met at the barracks in Sheldon, Birmingham, four years ago although love took a while to blossom.
"We were mates for a couple of years before getting together but kept it a secret from the rest of the lads for a bit to see how it went," said Syvonne, who works at Ernest Jones in the Merry Hill Centre.
