A man has been arrested after a stabbing today just yards from a school in Brierley Hill.
Police were called to council-owned maisonettes in Belle Isle, Brockmoor, when disorder broke out just after 4am.
The two-floor property near near Brockmoor Primary School was sealed off by officers.
Earlier, they blocked off the whole street, and the pavement opposite was stained with blood.
A smashed downstairs window was covered with blue tarpaulin to protect forensic evidence.
Shocked neighbours said they were woken by the sound of smashing glass and looked out of their bedroom windows to see police cars lining the street.
One resident, who did not wish to be named, said he saw two men come crashing through the front window of the flat and struggling in the street.
He said his car had been smeared with blood when the injured man had come knocking on his door to beg for help.
A man was "serious" in hospital later and a 22-year-old man was arrested.
