A squirrel trapped in a skip on a Brierley HIll trading estate had to be rescued by firefighters.

The creature was spotted by a worker on the Enterprise Trading Estate in Hurst Lane with its head sticking out of a hole in the skip.

Firefighter Jamie Reason, from purple watch at Brierley Hill station, said they had to cover the squirrel's head with a piece of material to prevent the animal biting them.

He said: "It took several of us to gently push the squirrel back into the skip, we had to be careful or we could have broken his back."

The animal was rescued at about 6.30pm yesterday.
