A 22-year-old man who caused just over £100 damage when he kicked in his mother's front door in Rugeley has been fined by magistrates.
A 22-year-old man who caused just over £100 damage when he kicked in his mother's front door in Rugeley has been fined by magistrates.
Jaimie David Thomas, of West Street, Kettlebrook, Tamworth, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Cannock Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He was fined £120 as well as ordered to pay compensation of £100.39 to pay for repairs to the door, £60 court costs and £15 victim surcharge.
Mr Steve Knowles, prosecuting, told the court that around 6.15pm on March 22 Thomas went around to his mother's house in Newman Grove in a a drunken state where he kicked at the door until she came out. Mr Knowles added: "He stated to officers that he had a considerable amount of alcohol to drink and he could not remember being there or damaging the door."
Mr Neil Gerity, defending, said Thomas, who is a tree surgeon, did not drink very often and as a result it affected him badly but he had been out with friends to celebrate the return of a friend from army service.
"He accepts he has done wrong and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and he wishes to make compensation for the damage caused."
