A three-year-old Cannock girl struck down by meningitis is now said to be out of danger.
The Express & Star revealed last month that the unidentified girl had become ill after attending pre-school nursery at Moorhill Primary School, on Moorland Road.
The girl has now been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.
Sandra Peck, headteacher at Moorhill Primary School, told the Express & Star the girl was out of danger.
She said: "The little girl is making good progress. It is great news to hear she is doing well, it has been on everyone's mind. This has touched many of the parents and children as well as staff at the school."
It was the second time in two years that the school suffered a meningitis case, after seven-year-old Olivia Clarke in January 2005.
Olivia suffered severe blood poisoning and had to have both her hands and feet amputated.
