Paint the Day competition returns to Newhampton Arts Centre

An art and photography challenge is moving online this summer.

Paint the Day, organised by Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton in encouraging families and budding artists to get creative in lockdown.

This is the sixth year of the annual competition and exhibition.

On Saturday, June 20 the event will begin, challenging participants to create their very own masterpiece in just one day, using their own home as a starting point.

Artists can use anything from traditional watercolours and experimental photography to abstract collage, allowing them to interpret the scene in any visual style they wish as long as they can digitally summit their entries to NAC.

An online exhibition of all entries will be up the next day, and a physical exhibition at NAC of the originals will follow in the autumn when prizes will be awarded.

There be more than £500 in prize money including and overall first prize, photography, under 18 and public vote.
