Wolverhampton gig for Another Sky
Another Sky have released their new single ahead of a show in Wolverhampton next month.
The four-piece have unveiled The Cracks, the second track taken from their upcoming EP Life Was Coming In Through The Blinds - due on June 14 via Fiction.
To promote both the single and the EP, they have arranged a UK tour which stops off at the city's Newhampton Arts Centre on Dunkley Street on May 31.
The Cracks has done well on the radio since being picked up – it was premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show.
Talking about The Cracks, vocalist Catrin Vincent said: “It's a response to a Leonard Cohen lyric, 'the cracks, that’s how the light gets in'. The song is an ode to our generation, one that is more self-aware and being forced to have the difficult conversations that lead to progress and evolution.
"It’s inspired by the little girl fined by the council for setting up a lemonade stall, the kids suing the US government for global warming, teenagers like Greta Thunburg. It’s about our generation’s unique position of facing extinction.”
They have also created a video to accompany The Cracks, directed by Steve Turvey. it can be viewed via their YouTube channel.
Tickets for the Newhampton show, priced at £8, can be bought here.
