Date announced for Wolverhampton preview of BBC drama

A date has been announced for the homecoming premiere of a BBC drama based in Wolverhampton.

The Boy With The Topknot is based on the best-selling memoir of Sathnam Sanghera who grew up in Heath Town.

It was filmed in and around the area with scenes even captured at Wolverhampton railway station.

The preview screening in the city takes place at WV1 in Molineux on Wednesday, November 8 from 7pm.

Sathnam said: “It means the world to bring The Boy With The Topknot back home.

"It is all about life in this brilliant, real, kind place and I can’t wait for the people from around here to come watch it in this special screening event.”

Following the screening there will be a panel Q&A with Sathnam, producer Nisha Parti and director Lynsey Miller.

Alongside Sathnam Himmut Singh Dhatt from Oldbury who plays the young Sathnam will be in attendance.
