Beverley Knight: I'm on road to recovery after hysterectomy
Singing star Beverley Knight is recovering after a hysterectomy – and has vowed to bounce back to doing what she does best in weeks.
The 44-year-old West End singer from Wolverhampton has been recuperating in the sunshine abroad after her operation.
The usually super-fit star has been knocked off her feet but, spurred on by a flood of hometown support, Beverley is getting back to health.
And her management last night told the Express & Star she is looking to be back at work ‘over the next few weeks’ after her hysterectomy.
She has posted pictures and a video of herself at the exclusive Juicy Oasis yoga and fitness retreat in Portugal.
Bev said: “I feel great nine weeks post surgery and am ready to tour. I am in good health, thank you for all your wishes for me. I’m feeling good and my hysterectomy recovery is really good, so I will see you all on stage soon.”
Last month posing in the pool at the exclusive Shore Club resort in Providenciales island in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, she said she was ‘contemplating’ how far she’d come with the hashtag #HealingWell. She postponed her upcoming I Love Soulsville Tour after being diagnosed with uterine fibroids in May.
Well-wishers have been quick to offer support to her online too, including fellow Wolves fans.
Rob Jones tweeted: “Hope you’re on the mend. Just in time for the football season #utw”to which Beverley replied: “I am thank you! The championship is looking like fire this season! Xxx’ The tour dates, scheduled for June have been postponed until October.
The former Highfields School pupil has rearranged the tour gigs for October 1 to 18 – with the Birmingham date set for October 8 at the Symphony Hall. Beverley, given an MBE in 2007, is also set to step on stage in her first-ever pantomime this year at Birmingham Hippodrome.
She will take on the role of The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella from December 19.
