It could be brew! New beer made in bid to find mystery West Midlands lottery winner
Lottery bosses are hoping a new beer will be just the tipple to help track down the missing West Midland winner of a unclaimed £1 million prize.
The National Lottery asked Walsall-based Backyard Brewhouse to produce a special blond ale called Just The Ticket in the hope it will encourage people in the area to check their tickets before the deadline for claiming the prize expires next month.
It is believed that the £1 million winning ticket in the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker game was bought in Walsall borough in September last year. But if the prize is not claimed before March 17, the ticket will expire.
Senior winners adviser Andy Carter hoped that the new beer, which goes on sale on today will jog somebody's memory.
“With the deadline to claim the prize less than a month away, it really is a case of urging Walsall’s EuroMillions players to dig out and check their tickets before it’s too late," he said.
“This is just a fun and safe way of getting that message out there during the current situation, whilst helping in some small way to support a local independent business during these difficult times.”
Backyard Brewhouse has created just 100 bottles of the brew, which will be sold through the brewery's website tbb.uk.com
Brewery director Austen Morgan said: “It would be amazing if we helped find the owner of such an amazing National Lottery prize in Walsall.
"Just The Ticket is based upon our best-selling blond beer which is rich in flavour.
“We hope Just The Ticket will help spread the message and ultimately help unite the missing winner with their life-changing prize, it certainly would be a barrel full of laughs for someone if they were to come forward."
The missing ticket was bought for the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker draw on September 18, 2020. The Millionaire Make code is ZVKP 53227.
