Courtney Willey, from Walsall, was crowned Miss Birmingham 2019 last year after winning an online heat in the semi-finals to be given the regional title, and now has won the national title.

She said: "I spent a whole year getting involved in charity work and meeting different organisations to make a difference in my local community.

"After working closely with the Walsall Manor, local care homes, Cancer Research UK, food banks and other various clothing donation banks as well as raising £1,749 with the other finalists for Caudwell Children I was lucky enough to win the title of Miss Sovereign GB 2020.

"Due to Covid-19, the finals this year were made virtual which saw all of the finalist completing the rounds through video footage which was then submitted and judged by six amazing judges who awarded all of the new title holders their titles.

"As the new Miss Sovereign Great Britain, I plan to continue my work over the next 12 months and aim to help and get involved with so many more amazing charities and organisations to help more individuals whom need support or a role model.

"I am so honoured and humbled to be representing this system and the UK over the coming year and I hope to be able to be a role model for others and someone they can gain guidance and encouragement from.

"After competing since being 18, I am finally able to say I am a national title holder and can show how dreams really do come true as long as you keep believing and Woking hard."
