Members of the Glorishears of Brummagem group gathered just after 5am yesterday to perform traditional Cotswold Morris Dances and sing a hymn to celebrate the date. The dancers from Birmingham were kitted out in their blue and jade-coloured outfits as they performed at the landmark site through sunrise. The Glorishears of Brummagem group was set up in 1978 with seven members and went on to form their own women’s Morris dance group.
The group practises on Sundays at St John’s Church Centre, Church Road, Perry Barr, from 7pm to 9pm.
New dancers and musicians alike are welcome to attend the Sunday rehearsal sessions.
