Life of murderer Ruth Ellis to be the subject of Wolverhampton am-dram production
The story of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Britain, is the subject of a play by an amateur dramatic group.

The Thrill of Love, by Amanda Whittington, will be performed by Studio 61 theatre group at Newhampton Arts Centre at the former Municipal Grammar School in Dunkley Street, Wolverhampton.
The centre, which is to benefit from a £1.5 million revamp, is due to be renamed Wolverhampton Arts Centre by the time of the production.
It tells the story of Ellis, a 28-year-old nightclub hostess, who was hanged in 1955 for the murder of former Shrewsbury schoolboy David Blakeley.
Her life also featured in the recent ITV drama A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, and a documentary The Real Ruth Ellis has also recently been screened.
The Studio 61 production is being directed by member Richard Corser from Sedgley and features a cast of four women and one man.
