The outdoor cinema will screen The Princess Bride

The Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton is set to become home to a new open air cinema, which will showcase a specially selected programme of films for audiences to enjoy.

The Courtyard Cinema will take up residence in the centre's secure courtyard, providing a safe and socially distanced space for people to sit and watch the films on offer.

The courtyard has been used in recent weeks to hold a series of summer school workshops for drama and dance students.

The first showing at the new cinema will be of the classic fairy tale "The Princess Bride" on Saturday, September 12.

Doors to the first screening will open at 6.30pm, with the film showing at 7pm.

Anyone interested in attending is advised to purchase tickets in advance, with tickets costing £5 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family of four.

Tickets can be purchased on the door, but are subject to availability.
