Joe Pasquale meets fans in Wolverhampton

The comedian was at Waterstones in the city centre for the launch of Deadknobs and Doomsticks.

The book has seen the funnyman delve into the world of horror, with the book a collection of short scare stories.

Pasquale, who signed books and posed for pictures with fans on Saturday, said he has always been a fan of the genre and decided now was the time to write a horror book.

"It is a collection of short horror stories. I love horror, I have always been interested in movies and books. It is humorous as well," he said.

Pasquale was in the city all week starring as Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em at the Grand Theatre.

He said he had enjoyed putting his own slant on the role famously played in by Michael Crawford in the BBC sitcom and that is had gone down so well the show had been lined up to return to the Grand.

He said: "It has been fantastic. I have been here all week. I love the theatre and people love their comedy round here.

"I have tried my own take on it. I didn't do an impression of Michael Crawford, it was a 21st century Frank Spencer.

"It was sold out most shows this week and that's why we have booked another show for 2020."
