The Bodyguard: The Musical in return to Wolverhampton
The Bodyguard: The Musical will return to Wolverhampton next year, it has been revealed.
The hit show will return to the Grand Theatre in summer 2019.
Its cast is yet to be announced.
Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 Oscar-nominated Warner Bros. movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the show tells the tale of former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, who is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love.
Songs in the show include Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, I’m Your Baby Tonight, Run to You, I Have Nothing, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and I Will Always Love You.
After premièring at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End in 2012, the show was nominated for four Olivier Awards.
The Bodyguard: The Musical will run at Wolverhampton Grand from June 25 to July 6.
Tickets go on sale from 10am on Wednesday, March 21.
