The five-piece rock ‘n’ roll engine are described as being "made up of four members from the Midlands greased with a vocal roar from the south; which, when put together and fired up, produce a no-nonsense sound to be reckoned with".

Their new single, One More Day, was released on Friday, and is taken from their upcoming album later this year. It is available to download from iTunes. It has already been remixed by Romesh Dodangoda of Bring Me The Horizon, Stone Broken, Willie & The Bandits, Bad Touch and Funeral For A Friend fame, with a video out to accompany it.

And to promote One More Day, they've lined up a mini tour to whet fans' appetites, including a show at Wolverhampton's The Giffard Arms on March 16 and in Stafford itself at Redrum on March 22.

Piston have appeared with well-respected acts such as The Temperance Movement and Sebastian Bach and have filled venues throughout the UK with their raw sound and energetic performances, and fans will be able to see what they have learned from such stars at the Giffard Arms gig.

Vocalist Rob Angelico opened up about the single, saying: “One More Day is about learning to trust in the natural progression of life. We can't turn back time here, we can only progress and move forward.

"We always have another day to find the light.”

And talking about the run of shows, which also takes in London and Crumlin in the South Wales Valleys, he added: "We are all really looking forward to getting back out on the road again, catching up with the fans and playing them a bunch of new songs.

"It has been almost six years since our last release, and it has been one hell of a journey. We recorded a whole album and scrapped it and re-sculpted our sound. So 2019 is the year for Piston!”

Tickets for their Stafford and Wolverhampton shows are available from the venues' websites or by visiting the band's site at www.pistonuk.com/shows
