Trevor Beattie – the man behind the Wonderbra ‘Hello Boys!’ campaign – bought the iconic Coronation Street items at auction for £4,200.

He is also a renowned film-maker behind hits such as Moon and says that he may even produce Hilda Ogden: The Movie.

Wolverhampton Polytechnic graduate Trevor, who founded Beattie McGuinness Bungay, announced on Twitter that he had bought the items.

The accessories were made famous by actress Jean Alexander, who played the battleaxe cleaner with a beautiful singing voice between 1964 and 1987.

She died last year, and her nieces organised the sale at the Royal Clifton Hotel in Southport.

Film producer Trevor said he may use them in a film called Hilda Ogden: The Movie.

He was formerly the chairman and creative director of TBWA London.

He said: “I just bought Hilda Ogden’s headscarf, pinny and rollers. As you do. It is a really important piece of popular culture. I

t is like Charlie Chaplin’s moustache or Muhammad Ali’s boxing gloves. I’m hoping to open an exhibition of cultural icons and we may be making Hilda Ogden: The Movie so we’ll see.”

Trevor did a degree in graphic design and photography at Wolverhampton Polytechnic and also went on to lead the French Connection FCUK campaign.
