Amy Faith Morley has recorded a new album called "Abide with me" – her second collection – which features old hymns in a country and easy listening style.

Popular songs include Amazing Grace and Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace.

Amy has been sharing live videos throughout the lockdown, from her candlelit kitchen table, playing song requests from her listeners and entertaining them with a live online concert for VE day, singing the songs of Vera Lynn, Doris Day and Judy Garland.

She has been taught by Elaine Buckland who is also the leader of the Counterpoint Choir in Wolverhampton.

Amy said: "I grew up listening to my Grandparent's record player and watching songs of praise on TV with my Nan as a child. These songs bring back happy memories which I know many of the elderly today still really enjoy.

"Music refreshes the soul during times like this in a way that words cannot. Sing a long songs remind us that we are not alone. It can bring back happy memories for those who struggle to remember too and I have seen this in some of the care homes I visited in the past. There is nothing better than seeing someone light up as they remember their favourite songs and sing a long.

"I have recorded this album in hopes that these hymns will bring some joy and peace to those who are feeling isolated at the moment, or are needing an uplift through this uncertain season.

"I decided that I would sell my albums as normal, but I am gifting CDs free to elderly care homes and nursing homes. I feel the elderly have suffered so much through this pandemic and want to give them something that they can listen to and feel cheered up."
