Forest Live 2021: Keane announced to play outdoor Cannock Chase concert

Keane will perform at next year's Forest Live at Cannock Chase after the event was cancelled this year.

Following a six-year hiatus, the quartet will come to Staffordshire on June 12 with support from Flyte and Michael Ryan.

Formed in 1995, the East Sussex group is best known for singles such as Somewhere Only We Know, Everybody's Changing, This Is The Last Time, Bedshaped and more.

Keane have sold over 13 million records worldwide.

The band went on a break in 2014 before returning in 2018 after posting cryptic images onto their various social media accounts, hinting that the group were in the studio working on new material.

In 2019, Keane released their fifth studio album, Cause and Effect, featuring singles The Way I Feel, Stupid Things and Love Too Much.

The annual Forest Live event was set to take place at the Chase this year with performances from Will Young, James Morrison, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and more.

Bit the series of shows were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement Forestry England said: "We are sorry to disappoint the Forest Live fans who were hoping to see bands in the nation’s forests this summer but we have cancelled Forest Live 2020 to keep everyone safe in line with recent government guidance on the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

"We really hope that everyone’s support to fight Covid-19 means the situation will have improved by the summer however, as well as our valued customers, we work with a large number of volunteers, artists and contractors, to make these concerts happen and have taken this decision in the interest of safety for everyone involved.

"We would like to send our deepest apologies to everyone who was hoping to see a Forest Live 2020 show.

"We were very excited to welcome you into forests across England to see some incredible live music.

"Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you back to Forest Live in 2021."

Further acts for 2020 are yet to be announced.

Forest Live is a major outdoor live music series held at forests across the country include, the Chase, Delamere Forest in Cheshire and Thetford Forest in Suffolk.

More than 1.9 million people have attended a Forest Live gig in the last 20 years, with proceeds going towards Forestry England.

Tickets to see Keane at Cannock Chase will go on sale this Friday at 9am.

They are priced at £44.50 each plus £5.45 booking fee per ticket.
