The 27-year-old former One Direction star will play the event alongside the likes of Ellie Goulding, James Arthur, The Vamps and more.

The singer/songwriter first rose to fame in 2010 when he became a member of One Direction alongside Wolverhampton's Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan on The X Factor.

The group became the first band in the US Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one, and received numerous accolades including seven Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards, and 28 Teen Choice Awards.

They released a series of hit songs, such as Night Changes, Drag Me Down, Story of My Life, Best Song Ever and What Makes You Beautiful.

One Direction went on hiatus in 2016, and since then Louis has released a number of solo singles, including Two of Us, Just Hold On, Miss You, and Back to You with Bebe Rexha.

Free Radio Hits Live will take place at Birmingham's Resorts World Arena on May 4.
