The Mighty Mighty Bosstones to play Birmingham

Iconic ska punk band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are coming to Birmingham.

The Boston group, formed in 1983, are best known for songs such as Royal Oil, The Rascal King, Someday I Suppose and The Impression That I Get.

The band are often credited as one of the originators of the genre of ska punk and the creators of its subgenre ska-core, which mixes elements of ska with punk rock and hardcore.

The Bosstones had released seven studio albums, three EPs and a live album before their hiatus in 2003.

In 2007 the band reformed and have since released three more studio albums.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will play Birmingham's O2 Academy on June 28.
