Aled Jones to perform in Dudley
TV and radio presenter Aled Jones is to sing alongside the Gentlemen Songsters Male Voice Choir in Dudley later this year.
The popular Welshman shot to fame when his cover version of “Walking In The Air” was used in 1980s cult Christmas classic The Snowman.
Aled will be at Dudley Town Hall on Saturday September 23.
The concert has been organised by the Gentlemen Songsters, and all proceeds on the night will go to the mayor’s charities.
Councillor Dave Tyler assumed the chains of office last week, and will be raising cash for three charities – Dudley Mind, the YMCA and Dudley Alzheimer’s Society - during the course of his mayoral year.
Compere for the evening will be Good Morning Britain’s Phillipa Tomson, a TV presenter and journalist.

“It is a fantastic gesture by the Gentlemen Songsters to donate all of the proceeds to my chosen charities, which is very much appreciated.

Since his early singing days, Aled has gone on to enjoy a distinguished career on the small screen, presenting shows such as Songs of Praise, Daybreak, Cash In The Attic and Escape To The Country.
The 70-strong Gentlemen Songsters Male Voice Choir, based in Dudley, perform in nearly 20 concerts every year including four at the town hall.
It was formed in 1957 and this year members are celebrating the group’s 60th anniversary.
