Snip and sip at Kings Heath barbers to look forward to

A French-styled barber’s shop with restaurant, and a champagne bar above, is probably one of the more exotic and unusual property deals to be announced during the current coronavirus lockdown.

Boomers will be created in Alcester Road

West Brimwich-based commercial property agents Bond Wolfe have let 6-8 Alcester Road in Kings Heath, Birmingham, to ALLM on a five-year lease. The new business will trade as Boomers.

The deal means the shopping parade owned by Birmingham quoted investment company Real Estate Investors is now fully let.

James Mattin, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “The retail property market has never faced such challenging times as it is right now, so we are delighted to have concluded this letting during in such a difficult climate.

“We remain very much open for business and are continuing to receive new inquiries across all sectors, and we are very pleased to be able to release such a good news story amid all the doom and gloom.

“This deal was almost 12 months in preparation with planning, design and other issues to be resolved along the way.

“But we are delighted that the tenants have stuck to the task, and when it came to completion were happy to proceed, with an eye to the future when life returns to normal and we will all be long overdue for a haircut and definitely need some fizz to cheer us up.”

The property is a double unit on the popular south Birmingham shopping parade and has Sainsbury's as a neighbour with shops such as Barnardos also close by.

The ground floor area will have an all-day barbers’ shop and also a restaurant that stays open till late, and the first floor will be home to a stylish champagne bar.
