Spooky half term events planned this Halloween at Birmingham museums

A host of family-friendly events and activities are planned at museums and art galleries in Birmingham this half term.

Highlights include a Halloween party at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and an afterhours spooky science night at the Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum

Other heritage sites across the city will also be opening their doors for creepy crafts, ghost hunts and scary tales.

Parents can bring their children along to enjoy a free spooktacular Monster Party at Waterhall at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, on October 25 between 2pm and 4pm.

There will be music, dancing and ghoulish games on offer.

A range of craft activities will be held at the museum of Victoria Square on Saturday and Sunday.

Children can use art and technology to create their own drawing robot.

A small charge applies for some activities throughout the week.

Meanwhile a spooky science week will take place at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum.

An after hours spooky science night will be held on October 28 between 6pm and 9pm, and charges apply.

Children can get dressed as their favourite creature and take part in eerie experiments, a science of fright show, and meet some real life creepy crawlies led by an expert animal handler.

There will also be fun at Aston Hall’oween at Aston Hall where you can see the hall transformed into a haunted mansion from October 27 to 29.

Families can learn about the great plague at Blakesley Hall, and find out about all the medicines the doctor would have used to treat the sick.

There will be special themed trails, quizzes and fascinating facts.

At Sarehole Mill there will be a Halloween trail from October 24 to 29.

There will also be Halloween-themed tours of Soho House from October 25 to 26.
