The first of two 1940s weekends at the Severn Valley Railway was off to a roaring start on Saturday, as over 1,300 people descended on the historic railway line for some rip-roaring 1940s fun.

Running for over two decades, the event recreates a taste of life on the home front for thousands of visitors for two weekends each summer along the 16 miles of railway.
