The cinema, based at Bentley Bridge retail park, will showcase its "superscreen" on March 13 – with a 4DX screen unveiled on March 27.

It comes as Cineworld started its state-of-the-art revamp on September 15, which is due to be finished in May – when ScreenX will be unveiled.

The superscreen is a wall-to-wall, ceiling-high screen – which is taller than a double decker bus.

The auditorium seats 349 – with an additional five disabled spaces – with the latest 4k projectors and Dolby speakers used.

4DX, exclusive to Cineworld, allows viewers to experience special effects like those on the screen – such as wind, fog, lightning, snow, water and scents.

ScreenX features a 270-degree viewing experience, using an array of projectors which expands the regular screen out.

The foyer has undergone a refresh – with other rooms receiving new screens and seating, with a Starbucks also open.

Avi Ghataore, general manager of the branch, said: "We are excited to finally announce the opening dates for our major refurb and launch of Superscreen, 4DX and ScreenX.

"Our cinema boasts a wealth of opportunities for the local community to immerse themselves in film like never before and we look forward to welcoming them into the cinema to watch many of the great films out on release."
