The new works, by Daniel Silver, will mark the 60th anniversary of Jacob Epstein's death and New Art Gallery's long-standing commitment to sculpture.

Jacob Epstein was renown as a great 20th century sculptor, who helped to pioneer the art form.

The Walsall-based gallery is set to host three new exhibitions as part of its new season launch in 2019.

A spokesperson for the art gallery said: "Silver is pushing the boundaries of sculpture in new and innovative ways, though clearly acknowledging the legacy of art history, and citing Epstein and modernist sculpture, as well as classical art, amongst his influences.

"Silver will also present a new mannequin commission in the Gallery’s window box, connecting with the city centre landscape, in an era of considerable change for the face of the British high street."

The presentation will be Silver's 'most ambitious exhibition' in the UK to date.

Daniel Silver's works will include Rock Formations, monumental sculptures collaging stone and bronze heads onto large sections of Carrara marble, alongside new work including a series of mannequins.
