The Phalanx needs you, but are you brave enough?
Alton Towers has launched a brand new Scare Maze for this year’s Halloween season - and it’s absolutely terrifying.
The tale behind the chilling Scarefest attraction sees thrill-seekers enter ‘the compromised Phalanx base’ which, the story goes, was previously used for civilian tests on a unique virus antidote.
But it’s all gone terribly wrong and now the base is crawling with zombie-like creatures.
The Phalanx requires volunteers to enter the compound, find the vaccination and rescue the technician - but can you make it through?
Dressed in white gowns and surgical masks we entered the maze, not sure what to expect, plunged into darkness as a man on a screen explained the story.
Soon after we were making our way through corridors and winding tunnels filled with smoke, low ceilings and a variety of obstacles, with spine-chilling zombies stumbling across our paths and hiding in the darkness.
One even grabbed my leg as we walked through, provoking screams as we pushed on, stifling nervous giggles.
A hair-raising, thrilling experience for those who seek immersive scary fun this Halloween.
