Wolf Mountain reopens in Wolverhampton
A climbing centre that shut suddenly for months without an explanation has reopened.
Wolf Mountain, in Paget Road, shut its doors in July and mystery surrounded the centre as disappointed climbers were left without an explanation as to why it shut.
It has since come to light that is had closed due to family problem but one of the directors who established it in 2005, Julian Porter, has since bought it back to reopen it.
Mr Porter has apologised that the climbing and caving centre closed at such short notice.
It will be business as usual again from Saturday under the name Wolf Mountain Activity Centre.
The 51-year-old, of Stafford, said: "I apologise that it closed so suddenly - it could have been dealt with in a smoother way.
"But we are happy to see that social media is buzzing after we made the announcement we were reopening.
"There is a buzz in the centre because it is somewhere that really gets your adrenaline going.
"It is good for all age groups. A lot of schools visit because activities like climbing are really good for self esteem."
Visitors to the centre can have a go at archery, bouldering, indoor caving and climbing.
It will be open from 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. More information about opening times are available at
