Families flock to pop-up beach in West Bromwich
The sun may not have managed to keep his hat on for Bank Holiday Monday but families still flocked to a pop-up beach at a historic house for some half-term fun.
It's just a short hop to the seaside in landlocked Sandwell, with families celebrating Bank Holiday under the grey clouds at the Manor House Museum in West Bromwich.
The museum on Hall Green Road has opened a giant sandpit and is putting on a range of family craft activities for free.
The seaside theme has kicked off with Manor House By The Sea, featuring donkey rides, Punch and Judy shows, seaside activities and crafts are all happening on the grounds until Friday.
Rachel Kinsella, visitor services officer at the museum, said: "Families can have all the feeling of the sea side without actually having to drive all the way there.
"The weather wasn't as nice as we'd hoped but it is still going ahead.
"It's the third or fourth year that we've held the beach at the museum but this is the first time it's rained.
"It'll all still go ahead this week though and we hope families can still enjoy themselves."
On Wednesday, children will have a chance to have a donkey ride at the event.
Manor House By The Sea will take place from 11am until 3pm everyday until Friday.
