Wolverhampton Council have given an official date as to when the paddling pool will be open for business.

It began filling up on May 9 much to the excitement of local residents - many of whom remember splashing around there in their childhood.

It was first converted into a public paddling pool in 1934 when the Graham family, founders of the Express & Star, paid for the conversion of the pool.

Tettenhall Pool is now full of water - but the public are advised to not enter as it is still undergoing water tests.

This included the initial draining and lining of it with concrete panels before it was refilled, becoming what some referred to as 'Wolverhampton-by-the-sea'.
