CADS theatre group ready for new show
A long-standing theatre group is in rehearsals ready for its latest production.
CADS is one of the first amateur groups in the country to perform Celebrity by Paul Mathews.
And the playwright will be in the audience for the Saturday evening performance.
Celebrity follows the chaotic lives of Max and Amber Kettell, a new baby, unexpected visitors and a nuisance neighbour.
Together with consultant David Hill, Tammy Steventon and Chad Dent are co-directing Celebrity which is their first taste of directing for CADS.
Group spokesman Craig Hill said: "Everyone is enjoying the rehearsals and they hope that he will be pleased with the result."
CADS had a new beginning in 2016 when the group moved to Gayton Road Community Centre, in West Bromwich, from Pennyhill School which had been its home for the past 69 years.
Months were spent refurbishing the old theatre with help from the centre including a revamp of the stage area, auditorium and lighting.
The group wants to double the size of the company both in on stage and behind-the-scenes roles.
The show takes place between October 17 to 20 at The Theatre, Gayton Road Community Centre, in West Bromwich.
