Black Country Vegans gain new members following Stourbridge Vegan Health & Lifestyle fair
The organisers of a vegan group have expressed delight at its increase in membership as a result of a fair held in Stourbridge.
It comes as a Vegan Health & Lifestyle fair was held at Stourbridge Town Hall for the first time.
Ben and Nicola Powell, from Black Country Vegans, said: "There was a great deal of interest in our stall at the fair, where we were distributing vegan information and had samples of vegan food products for people to try.
"We're delighted to say that, as a result of the event, the membership of our group has increased by well over 40% in the past few weeks, so that we now have more than 560 members.
"This goes to show how popular veganism has become and just how many people are keen to adopt a more humane diet and lifestyle that does not involve the consumption or use of animal products.
"Black Country Vegans offers help and advice to vegans in the area, organises social events, encourages restaurants to offer more vegan options, supports vegan businesses and raises money for animal rescue charities."
