There’s an assortment of historical extras to interact with at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum during the school summer holidays and beyond.

During the August ‘Discovery Day’ events, you can take a guided tour of the WWI trenches and meet the resident tunneller, who will be in ‘is ole’, demonstrating breathing apparatus, listening devices and more.

From the safety of the WWII pillbox and rifle pit, The Home Guard are ready to repel the threat of invasion.

Visit the WWII public air raid shelter and sit through a Luftwaffe raid during ‘the Blitz’.

Hear from a British redcoat, about the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 and the wars against Napoleon’s French empire.

Want to know what a Lee Enfield rifle, or a German MP40 sub-machine gun feels like? The ‘handling collection’ of weapons will be available for ‘up close & personal’ inspection.

The museum is open from 10am – 4pm, seven days a week, including bank holidays, with seasonal closures at Christmas/New Year period.

Tickets cost £4 for adults, concessions £3.

Family ticket £10 for two adults and three children.
